NORTHEAST CREMAION SERVICE

Preplanning Guide

PLAN AHEAD

Making the Right Arrangement

Whether planning for yourself or a loved one, it’s important to think about and discuss the many choices you’ll need to make in the process. If you’re unsure, that’s fine. You won’t need to make all of the decisions now. Our pre-arrangements can be modified later at no charge.

Our easy-to-use online planner can help guide you through the process. If you have additional questions, feel free to call us.

Start with these basic questions:

  • Would you or your loved one like to be cremated or have a traditional burial in a casket instead?

  • Would you like any kind of funeral or memorial service to accompany your cremation or burial?

  • What mementos or keepsakes do you want to share with your family?

  • If you’re cremating, do you wish to bury, retain, or spread the ashes?

If you’re considering a funeral or memorial service, here are the key questions you’ll need to think about:

  • Do you want a visitation/wake before your funeral or memorial service?

  • Who do you wish to speak at your service?

  • Would you like to invite a pastor or minister to help organize and lead the service?

  • What photos or mementos would you like to share at your service?

  • What music or poems would you like to be played at your service?

Prepaying For Your Service

After making your prearrangement, you’ll need to consider whether or not to prepay for your service. Prepaying provides the most discounts for our services and locks in today’s prices to protect against inflation.

All prepayments are entered into a mortuary trust in the recipient’s name in an FDIC backed bank. By law, we cannot use those funds until the recipient’s time of death. Any prepayment you make is fully refundable or transferable to another funeral home or cremation service.
